Frequently Asked Questions
We are currently not accepting any O2 contract phones, we believe there is an issue where legitimate O2 contract phones are being blocked by O2 (2 to 3 months down the line), even though the contracts are being fully paid by the owners. This is either data breach or an issue inside O2. But as a business we have made the decision to stop buying this type of phone until we have clarity of what the situation is. If a O2 contract phone comes into us the customer will be emailed and arrangements will be made to get the phone back to them. Apologies for any inconvenience caused and hopefully we will be back to buying O2 contract stock in the near future.
Yes, we purchase and recycle faulty, used and new devices. All prices are shown under device condition within each specific model.
Please be aware we do not buy devices that are currently blocked, barred or blacklisted NOR any that will be in the future.
The devices we buy will be given a brand-new home. If the device becomes blocked, barred or blacklisted in the future, the new user will not be able to use the device.
A device can be blocked, barred or blacklisted if the contract is not paid (if it is on contract), the finance of the device is not paid (if it is on finance) or if the device is reported lost or stolen (if it is insured). All of these are types of fraud and against the law. If you do not know the history of your device or if you have purchased it from a third party and are not in control of this happening, then please do not send the phone into us.
The storage size is the amount of data that can be stored on your device, the larger the storage, the more your device will be worth. You will find your storage size on the back or side of the retail box.
‘Locked’ means the device is locked to a specific network e.g. EE, O2, Vodafone, 3 etc.
An unlocked device is open to all networks and will work with all sim networks.
Tablets
If your Tablet is a WIFI only version (photo 1) and not a WIFI & Cellular model then the network status will not apply.
We only accept UK models and in order to make sure your device is a UK model, please check the back of the retail box for the following;
Apple iPhone
The UK CA hallmark will be present on the back of the box for the iPhone 13 range and newer (photo 1).
For all models older than the iPhone 13 range, you can use the model number. This is a series of letters and numbers before the model itself. It will start with the letter M and finish with B/A (Photo 2).
So an example of this would be MGJJ3B/A and as it finishes with B/A, it’s a UK model (Please be aware each different model of iPhone will have a different series of numbers and letters, but as long as it ends in B/A then it’s a UK model).
Please note, some models can have the UK CA hallmark and the model number ending in B/A which obviously makes it a UK model (photo 3). However the majority of models will have one or the other.
Samsung Mobile
The UK CA hallmark will be present on the back of the box for all Samsung UK models from 2021 onwards (photo 4 & 5).
The UK CA hallmark will be present on the end of the box for all Google UK models (photo 6).
Apple iPad
All iPads manufactured from 2021 onwards will show the UK CA hallmark on the back of the retail box (photo 7).
Samsung Tablet
The UK CA hallmark will be present on the back of the retail box for all Samsung Tablet UK models from 2021 onwards (photo 8).
Just like many high valued items, fakes and imitations are produced illegally. This is no different to Tech.
Due to advances in technology, the fakes and imitations can now be of a very high standard, especially the outer packaging. The boxes can look just like the real thing. We know what to look out for and have experts, who will assess the device. However, the average seller may not be able to tell the difference and some customers can be selling a device thinking it’s genuine when it may not be.
We DO NOT purchase fakes or replicas and if we are sent one, your order will be cancelled, and you will be contacted directly.
MDM is an abbreviation for Mobile Device Management. It is a protocol that gives system(s) administrators the ability to manage devices by sending commands from a central server to the device within the network. This is pre-installed, with a business/company working with the manufacturer to pre-install this before the device is sealed.
Please note, we DO NOT buy devices that have MDM pre-installed company software. We would not be able to use the device, as it will be locked to the company who have owned and set this originally.
Please ensure if you are selling your device, which is owned or brought by the company you work for, or previously to work for, please get confirmation from them to confirm the device does not have company management software pre-installed.
If you are looking to sell a new device to us, it will need to be sealed in order to fit into the new sealed category. So this means the device is sealed by the manufacturer themselves. We do not buy devices that have been sealed by third parties.
Apple iPhone
For the models from the iPhone 13 range to the latest model, the boxes will have the top and bottom pull seal (photo 1).
For all models older than the iPhone 13 range, apple will have sealed the box with a clear plastic wrap around the box, with a pull seal at the bottom (photo 2).
Samsung Mobile
The Samsung models will be factory sealed in two ways. Newer models from 2023 onwards will have the top and bottom pull seals attached to the back of the retail box (photo 3).
All Samsung models manufactured up to 2022 will have the sticker seals attached to the back of the retail box (photo 4).
All Google models will have the side pull seal on the back of the retail box (photo 5).
Apple iPad
Apple iPads before 2021 will have the cellophane wrap around the box. All iPads from 2021 and onwards match the iPhone and will have the top and bottom pull seal on the back of the box (photo 6).
Samsung Tablet
The Samsung Tablets are sealed similar to the Samsung phones. Models manufactured up to 2022 will have the sticker seals attached to the back of the retail box (photo 4). Then Samsung Tablets 2022 onwards will have the top and bottom pull seals on the back of the retail box (photo 7).
IMEI Number
An IMEI, or International Mobile Equipment Identity, number is a unique number specifically identifying your device. We use this number to identify your phone and gather information about it.
Your 15 digit IMEI number is located on the back or side of your devices retail box.
Serial Number
A serial number is a unique number assigned by the manufacturer to help identify an individual device, like a phone, laptop or tablet. Your devices serial number will be different from every other device the manufacturer has made.
If you have a Tablet which is a WIFI only version the IMEI number will not apply. WIFI only versions will have a serial number only (Photo 3).

As there are many different models, it can sometimes be confusing which device you actually have. If you don’t know the model that you wish to sell, then please look on the back or side of the retail box. It will tell you all the details of the device. If you have any problems, please do contact us.
After you have found out which model you have, please type this into our search bar & press the search button. If more than one variation of that model appears, please select the correct one from the options. (Please do ensure you double-check, as models can be very similar)
Yes, of course, we understand you may have more than one device to sell. All you have to do is keep adding the models to the basket.
The devices will be needed to be added one by one to the basket, as all IMEI/Serial numbers are required.

Once your online request is placed, the order confirmation email should be emailed to you right away. Please check your spam/junk folder, as sometimes it can be there.
If you have requested for us to send the label and packaging to you, please allow 2 working days to receive this. If you have not received this after 5 working days, it may have been lost in the post. You can keep tabs on the delivery with the tracking number that you will receive, please use the tracking details to see exactly what stage of the postage journey it is at. The next time you will hear from us, is an email confirming we have received your phone and the payment has been made to your chosen payment method.
Unfortunately, on very rare occasions, if you have not followed our buying criteria then your order could be revised or cancelled.
We do not buy devices that are blocked or that might be blocked in the future. We also do not buy fake or counterfeit/replica devices. By law, we are required to dispose of any device that come into us like this. In this instance, you will be emailed about this, and we will require you to make a £15 postage payment to us in order for us to get the device back to you. Please be aware we check all devices when they come into us with crime protection databases. In case of a device being reported as network blocked AFTER your device has been recycled, and we have made payment to you, we will report it to the Police and legal action will be instigated.
We are in our rights for certain devices to ask for more information to verify the sale. This can include Passport / ID, proof of purchase or address, these are all normal requests in the industry we work in. The information will be then deleted once the transaction is deemed successful. If this information is not provided to us within 7 days of the date of the request, we are well within our rights to cancel the transaction due to the legitimacy of the order. You will be asked to pay a £15 postage payment in order to get the device back to you.
We make pay-outs via the following methods:
PayPal – If you use PayPal and have an account then this will be the quickest method of payment as this eliminates bank-processing times. As you may well know, PayPal do take a commission on the payment, however we will cover this amount. Please make sure your PayPal email address is entered correctly on checkout.
Bank transfer – If you have selected to be paid straight into your bank account, please make sure the name of the bank account holder matches to the name stated on the bank details page that you fill out. Bank transfers should be instant, but sometimes they can be slightly delayed due to bank processing times.
Please post your device as soon as you can, or as soon as you have the label and packaging. Your order quotation will last for 14 days from when you placed the order, so you have 14 days to get the phone to us (which is plenty of time). After this time period, the price offered will no longer be locked in, and you will need to check the latest price via our website and make a new request to sell.
No, the colour does not affect the price we will pay you for your device.
